The Brainchild Institute was created by Dr. Leah Light to meet the needs of children with Auditory Processing Disorder and sensory processing disorders as well as social and learning challenges. In addition, this program was created in response to parents’ pleas for a comprehensive neuro-developmental program that would help address the root of their children’s issues rather than merely addressing their symptoms.

Tens of thousands of children in Broward County are affected by some type of disability. Navigating the complex system of care for children with special needs can be overwhelming and frustrating. Parents and caregivers don’t know where to turn and sometimes give up. In response to the complex needs of these children and families, the 2-1-1 Special Needs Connections Hotline was created to help their children reach their full potential.
